Virtual football betting is something of an amusement to serious sports commentators, who tend to adopt a rather sneering attitude towards the whole fantasy world. However, you know that the betting houses wouldn’t be offering the wagers if there wasn’t profit to be made on both sides of the book. The trick with virtual betting is that you often have to put aside the knowledge about teams that you have built up in your study of the real sport. In virtual football, Ronaldo and Beckham may be on the same team. In a match up, they may even be playing against their twins. You have to be able to roll with the punches and adapt.
Yet virtual football betting doesn’t mean you can entirely unplug from the actual game. If Ronaldo goes out drinking and is injured in the real world, he will be injured in the virtual world, too. Thus, betting virtual teams meaning not just having to track individuals, but having to mind them online and off.
The virtual betting tournaments can be a real bit of adventure. You will need to monitor the teams throughout the season to get a sense of who has assembled the best mix of virtual players and what their substitution strategies are week over week. It can be a bit data intensive, but the pay off is there.
The pots on some of the virtual betting events are quite sizeable. This makes the unpredictable odds and unique format worth learning. Virtual football betting is a good place to start because football is already such a popular bet that the learning curve is reduced.
If you find that you’ve a taste for it, you can also expand your boundaries. The American’s Fantasy Football League is almost as well known as the regular NFL. Again, a new set of rules to master, but very profitable pots. Even the NFL players themselves have a virtual football league you can lay a wager on throughout the season.

A user once sent us his betting strategy for virtual football betting:
Hi I’m Kev and I’d like to share with you my strategy for winning with virtual football.
Most online bookmakers now have the facility to bet on virtual football matches. These are real teams but played in a virtual world. Each season lasts just an hour so rather than waiting for Saturday to come round you can play 24 seasons in a day.
Now the results are all predetermined and each league has a resemblance to current statistics. ie. You will always see Man United near the top.
All teams will win lose and draw each season as normal. So this is how we will profit.
Method 1. Select any team to draw if they have not done so by around week 15, then starting with a small stake back this team to draw for every match until they do so. Sure this is progressive betting but you will receive odds of between 3.5 to 5.5 so the progressive stakes will never get to large. When you record your win stop and wait until the next season.
Method 2. This is my favourite method but the stakes will be progressively higher than backing the draws.
a. Firstly check past seasons results and determine which teams finish in the bottom 3 or 4.
b.Select one of these poor teams and back them to lose home and away, you should never have more than 4 losing bets on the trot, and follow them until they have recorded 15 losses for the season.(They will probably lose 20 times or more but don’t get greedy)
c. Even by starting with a stake of 10p you should expect to make between £2 and £4 for that season.
This system works for me all the time – test in demo mode first until you understand everything and remember keep starting stakes low until your bank increases by betting on virtual football.
