Betting weekend preview (Premiership, Ascot)
Bet on this Weekend's Sport
The final weekend of the Premiership season is upon us. The live action focuses on both the top and the bottom as Birmingham face Blackburn at St Andrews, Chelsea entertain Bolton at Stamford Bridge, Fulham travel to Fratton Park to play Portsmouth and Wigan host Man Utd at JJB Stadium.
Sunday's Premiership Football
Birmingham v Blackburn - Live on Sky Sports Interactive, k/o 15:00pm
Birmingham need to beat Blackburn if they are to have any hope of avoiding relegation. They currently lie 19th in the league and have not won in five, and even if they win they are not guaranteed survival. Birmingham may need a moment of magic from one of their exciting forwards so why not back Zarate to score first with BGbet offering 13/2. Blackburn will be looking for their third victory on the trot when they travel to St Andrews. Their main goal threat, Roque Santa Cruz, has become one of the best buys of last summer with 19 goals in his first campaign. He can also boast having eight goals in his last eight league games, so don't bet against him scoring. VC Bet have priced Birmingham as favourites at 11/10 whilst Centrebet have priced Blackburn at 14/5.
BGbet are offering to refund all losing first goalscorer bets on Birmingham v Blackburn game if Cameron Jerome scores at anytime in this match.
Chelsea v Bolton - Live on Sky Sports 2, k/o 15:00pm
A must win game for both teams as Chelsea are chasing the title and Bolton are battling for survival. Chelsea go into the game level on points with United but have an inferior goal difference so their title aspirations are not in their hands. Chelsea however are top of the Premierships form table with five wins and one draw in their last six and are unbeaten in twenty league matches. They also beat Bolton 1-0 at Stamford Bridge this year thanks to a goal from Kalou. Bolton have their fate in their own hands and know that a win will guaranteed top flight football next season. Their form is not bad either with three wins, one draw and two defeats in their last six. However Bolton have the hardest fixture in the relegation battle as the teams around them have easier opponents. Chelsea are strong favourites with BGbet offering 1/8 for a Chelsea victory and Centrebet have priced Bolton at 16/1.
BGbet are offering to refund all losing first goalscorer bets on Chelsea v Bolton match if Frank Lampard scores at anytime in this match.
Portsmouth v Fulham - Live on Setanta Sports 1, k/o 15:00pm
Portsmouth go into the game on their worst run of the season with one draw and three defeats. Their main concern will be to not pick up any injuries that may put players out of the FA Cup Final. The decision that Harry Redknapp faces is whether to start with the strongest possible team or to go with the likely team that will play in the final. This would mean that Jermain Defoe, who has fitted in to the Portsmouth's team so well, would not feature as he is cup tied for the Final. Fulham can be reassured that if they win they will be playing Premiership football next year. After being second bottom for nineteen matches, back to back victories have taken them out of the relegation zone and one step nearer survival. Fulham are slight favourites with VC Bet pricing them at 11/10. Pompey have been priced at 5/2 by Centrebet.
BGbet are offering to refund all losing first goalscorer bets on Portsmouth v Fulham match if David Nugent scores at anytime in this match.
Wigan v Man Utd - Live on Sky Sports 1, k/o 15:00pm
The match that decides the title. Everyone will be watching to see if Man Utd can handle the pressure and get the three points needed to retain their Premiership title. Their league form has not been great recently, with three wins, two draws and one loss in their last six. This form has let Chelsea come right back into the title race. It is still all in United's hands though - all they have to do is match Chelsea's result. Wigan, who are unbeaten in five and have taken a point off both Chelsea and Arsenal at home, will be looking to win the game. Steve Bruce has made it clear that if they win and move up the table it will increase their transfer funds for next season. The first meeting at Old Trafford ended in a 4-0 win for United with goals from Tevez and Rooney and a brace from Ronaldo. So why not back Man Utd to win by the same score line again with Betterbet offering 9/1for a 4-0 United win.
