Weekend betting preview (3-4 November 2007)
Saturday's Premiership Football Betting
On Saturday we have one of the biggest games of the season, as Arsenal host Man Utd at the Emirates Stadium (live on Sky Sports 1, k/o 12:45pm). This season, Arsenal have really stepped up their game; playing beautiful, passing football to devastating effect. No one embodies this improvement more than Cesc Fabregas, who has been superb this season, making 559 passes with around 79% of those passes finding a teammate, a truly awesome statistic.

Elsewhere in the Premiership, Blackburn take on Liverpool at Ewood Park in what promises to be a fiercely contested match. Rafa's Liverpool are priced at 11/8 (VC Bet) to win, however, judging by the impressive performances from Blackburn this season, at 2/1 (Centrebet), Blackburn should be considered serious contenders for all 3 points.
Also on Saturday we have Newcastle v Portsmouth, with Betterbet pricing Newcastle as favourites at 11/10, but with Portsmouth performing admirably in the league, VC Bet's odds of 23/10 show that they may be worth the punt. Elsewhere, Wigan face Chelsea at the JJB Stadium and with odds of 4/9 on a Chelsea victory (Betterbet), don't expect Wigan to cause an upset.
Sunday's Premiership Football Betting
Sunday sees only one Premiership game, as West Ham host Bolton at Upton Park (live on Sky Sports 1, k/o 4:00pm).
Both teams have not enjoyed the best starts to their respective seasons. West Ham have only won once out of the last four games, with Curbishley having spent over £50m on new players since his arrival, the results have not been good enough for a team of West Ham's stature. Bolton on the other hand have been dreadful this season, having only won three games out of 15 and, if the bookies are to be believed, it doesn't look likely to improve under new manager Gary Megson. As a result, the bookies have placed West Ham as favourites, with Centrebet offering odds of 5/6 on a Hammer's win, while Betterbet give odds of 10/3 on a Bolton win, the safe bet's on West Ham.
