Next stop is Cyprus and a look at the First Division with hosts Achnas taking on third from bottom club Doxa at their Stadio Dasaki Achnas ground with the hosts looking to capture a third consecutive league win this evening.
Although Achnas currently occupy a mid-table position in the Cypriot top flight, the home side have recently registered back-to-back league wins over Ermis and Anagennisi, and a further three points this evening would see them leapfrog Nea Salamis into 7th spot.
Achnas also possess a pretty steady home record which stands at 6-1-2 22/15 and they’re unbeaten in their last seven matches on home turf, having won six of these matches so they’re in pretty good nick. Look out for strikers Katcharava (11 goals) and Zelaya (8 goals) tonight.
Visitors Doxa sit third from bottom in the Cypriot top flight following a dismal run of results which has seen them go six league matches without a win ahead of this difficult trip to Achnas. Defeats to AEL, Omonia Nicosia, Ermis and APOEL have left them just two points ahead of relegation threatened AE Zakakiou.
Doxa are definitely trending in a downwards direction of late as they’ve lost four of their last five league matches overall, while their results away from home throughout this campaign have been very poor indeed.
An away record of 1-1-7 2/15 tells its own story, and since their 1-0 win away at Anagennisi, they’ve lost their last six away matches on the trot, and all to nil too! Indeed, Doxa possess the worst attacking record away from home in the division so far this season.
