Wembley Stadium provides the backdrop to an intriguing FA Cup final between London rivals Arsenal and Chelsea as the domestic cup finals theme continues in England on Saturday evening.

It may be a little melodramatic, but Arsene Wenger and Arsenal’s season hinges on this one match following what was ultimately a disappointing campaign for The Gunners who had started well in the first half of the season, but as is often the case, saw their title bid falter and then nose-dive as the second half of the season progressed.

On the european front, Arsenal were humbled not once, but twice, against the German reigning champions, Bayern Munich, and many have been questioning whether it’s close to calling time on Wenger’s reign at the Emirates stadium.

On a positive note, Arsenal come into the cup final on the back of five straight wins in the Premier League, and the FA Cup has always seemed to be Wenger’s ‘go-to’ competition when his side have been in danger of missing out on a european place – none more so than this season!

Arsenal possess some key attacking personnel as well though in the shape of Alexis Sanchez (24 goals), Olivier Giroud (10 goals) and Theo Walcott (10 goals), and they could cause Chelsea’s defence some serious problems today.

Onto Chelsea, and with the league title already wrapped up this season, they’ll head into today’s cup final seeking a double under new manager Antonio Conte who has turned the club around in emphatic fashion since Mourinho’s failed return at Stamford Bridge.

Conte has won back the dressing room which is no easy task given the numerous egos amidst his star-studded squad, but more importantly he has The Blues playing as a team once again, and the results have been devastating.

Chelsea have won seven on the trot in all competitions prior to this clash, scoring a total of 24 goals for, and conceding 8 in reply as the title winners have thrown off the shackles from the previous Mourinho regime.

Chelsea of course also possess deadly attacking trio Diego Costa (20 goals), Eden Hazard (16 goals) and Pedro (9 goals), but the performance of ball-winning midfielder, Ngolo Kante, could be pivotal in deciding the outcome of this FA Cup final.

I believe Chelsea will ultimately win the day, but we could see some goals on the way.
