Football – England – FA Cup Betting Tips

The second FA Cup semi-final this weekend features another Premier League clash with Arsenal taking on Manchester City at Wembley Stadium on Sunday afternoon with both teams having surrendered their league title ambitions.

It’s been a disappointing campaign so far this season for Arsene Wenger and his Arsenal team as The Gunners currently occupy sixth place in the English top flight, their worst league position for many a season, and a Europa League place now appears their best chances of european football participation as they are seven points adrift of today’s opponents Manchester City for a Champions League qualifier spot.

In Arsenal’s favour though is their recent results against Manchester City which have seen The Gunners claim three victories, three draws and just one defeat to Manchester City which was City’s 2-1 home win over Arsenal in the league back in December.

Onto Manchester City, and the highly anticipated new reign of manager Pep Guardiola was supposed to have sparked Manchester City into title challengers for the Premier League once again, but their season hasn’t shaped up to be the case at all.

City sit in fourth place and find themselves 11 points adrift of league leaders Chelsea as they are in danger of having to qualify for next season’s Champions League and may even yet need to settle for a disappointing Europa League spot.

Something in Manchester City’s favour ahead of this cup clash though is that they’ve captured back-to-back wins over Hull City and Southampton, so they too have reasons to be upbeat about their chances at Wembley today.

To sum up, both of these teams have been horribly exposed on the european stage recently, and while both teams possess impressive attacking talent, their respective defences give cause for concern. This FA Cup semi-final may well represent the final chance to redeem these club’s disappointing seasons.

I’ll therefore back both teams to score here, which, incidentally, has happened in six of their last seven meetings in all competitions.
