Fourth placed Atletico Madrid will be looking to build upon last weekend’s convincing 3-0 win away at Osasuna when they return to their more familiar surroundings of the Estadio Vicente Calderón in Madrid for this evening’s clash against Espanyol.

Visitors Espanyol sit in 12th spot in La Liga as they’ve more or less held their own so far in this Spanish top flight season with their best performances so far this term coming away from home as their record of 3-2-1 9/8 indicates.
Espanyol have also put together a seven-match unbeaten run heading into this difficult clash with Atletico Madrid and it’ll be interesting to see how they fare against one of the best sides in the Spanish elite.
In addition, Espanyol are unbeaten in their last five matches away from home, but their record away at top half teams remains indifferent so far with a record of 1-1-1 6/7 having lost at Seville, drawn with Real Sociedad and beaten Alaves so far this season.
