Atletico Mineiro laid down a marker at the weekend with an impressive 3-1 win away at Internacional to move top of the Brazilian Serie A league table as they registered a fourth consecutive league win.
Indeed, Atletico Mineiro are now unbeaten in their last five matches overall having racked up recent wins over Flamengo and Internacional both away from home, along with back-to-back home wins over struggling Joinville and Coritiba with 1-0 and 2-0 victories respectively.

With five stalemates under their belts already with draws against the likes of Flamengo, Santos, Fluminense, Chapecoense and Avai, I daresay this sequence of results has to end at some point, and with a visit away to Atletico Mineiro who are gathering momentum, this week could well be the turning point.
Sport Recife’s overall away record reads 0-5-0 7/7 but they’ve kept just one clean sheet on their travels so far this season and this could be a factor in determining tonight’s outcome.
To sum up, I believe Atletico Mineiro can take advantage of Sport Recife’s defence here and cover the -1 asian line which is attractively priced. Could be a 2-0 win for the hosts.
