BARNSLEY v WALSALL – Pick: 1 AH0 – 07 March 2015

Barnsley have home comforts in their favour

League One/Two Tips

Football – England – League One

Saturday 7th March 2015 – Kickoff: 1500hrs

Barnsley secured a fourth League One win on the trot on Tuesday night when they beat Coventry City 1-0 at Oakwell which has lifted them up into the top half of the division.

Wins over Crewe Alexandra, Scunthorpe United, Gillingham and Coventry City have Lee Johnson’s boys flying at the moment, and what is even more impressive is that they’ve achieved all of these recent wins to nil.

Barnsley’s home record now stands at  9-2-6  30/24 with only Bristol City and MK Dons scoring more goals on home turf than The Tykes so far this term. They’ve lost just once in their last eight at home, having chalked up six wins during this impressive sequence.

Anytime goalscorers for the hosts look to be midfielder Hourihane and forward Winnall.

Visitors Walsall ended a four-match slump without a win on Tuesday night when they nicked all three points in a 1-0 win at Huish Park over bottom club Yeovil Town, which has given them a useful nine-point cushion over the bottom four clubs in League One.

However, they face another tough trip this Saturday up north to Barnsley who, as previously mentioned, have won their last four matches on the trot. The Saddlers’ away record is a pretty good one which stands at  6-6-5  16/14 and is actually better than their record to date at their Banks’s Stadium.

Walsall have lost just once in their last ten on their travels which is a great run of form for a team that are currently sitting in 16th place in League One.

Depending on how you look at this, I reckon Walsall are probably due a loss on the road as Barnsley have been in fine form recently, and with home advantage, I’ll back the hosts with the attractively-priced draw no bet option – could perhaps be a 2-1 win for The Tykes.
