BARROW v EASTLEIGH

Football – England – National League Betting Tips

It’s still early days in the new National League season of course, but Barrow find themselves in the bottom half of the division after the first seven matches and it looks like it might be a long, hard slog for the Cumbrian outfit if they’re to avoid the drop.

Barrow actually got promoted from the Conference North at the end of last season, but with just one win from their last six matches overall (which was a 1-0 home win over fellow strugglers Southport), they could be in trouble again with the visit of a dangerous Eastleigh outfit.

Recent defeats to Forest Green Rovers, Cheltenham Town and Halifax Town suggest it could be a long ninety minutes for the hosts this afternoon, despite holding an early home record of  2-1-0  4/2.

Visitors Eastleigh have emerged as one of the dark-horses for promotion from the National League this season as they possess a strong squad for this level with several personnel possessing playing experience at higher levels in the football league.

Eastleigh have started this new term in strong fashion too as they sit in second place four points behind early surprise league leaders Forest Green Rovers. The Spitfires still remain unbeaten though, and having put together three straight wins on the bounce, they’ll no doubt come into this afternoon’s clash in a confident frame of mind.

Eastleigh’s away record stands at  2-1-0  8/3 which includes wins at Southport and Aldershot Town, and indeed, Eastleigh have lost just once in their last eight away matches in this division. Striker James Constable (5 goals) is too good for this division and is expected to score a truck-load of goals this season.

To sum up, Eastleigh should possess the necessary firepower to simply outscore their opponents today, and they could well run out 2-1 winners in this one.
