Mid-table Bournemouth welcome bottom of the table Sunderland to their Vitality Stadium on Saturday as the home side look to heap further misery upon the Black Cats by taking a further three points this afternoon.
Prior to last weekend’s 2-0 defeat at Middlesbrough, Bournemouth had put together a useful four-match run without defeat as they’d gained wins over Everton and a 6-1 thrashing of Hull City on home turf along with creditable points off Watford and Tottenham in 2-2 and 0-0 draws respectively. In the recent game against Tottenham, The Cherries showed a new resilience and weren’t afraid to put some tackles in which I was impressed with.
At home, Bournemouth hold a decent record which stands at 3-1-1 9/4 after having registered wins against West Brom, Everton and Hull and no doubt they’ll be looking to add Sunderland to this list today.
Onto Sunderland, and as mentioned they are currently sitting bottom of the Premier League with just a meagre two points from their first ten league matches of the new campaign. Manager David Moyes is under increasing pressure to halt their recent poor run of results which has seen The Black Cats lose eight of their first ten matches this season.
Sunderland’s away record reads a poor 0-1-4 2/7 and they look strong early contenders for the drop down to the Championship unless something drastic happens. They head into this encounter on the back of three straight defeats away from home at Tottenham, Stoke City and West Ham (all to nil), while three away wins from their last 26 on the road gives you an indication as to where their problems lie.
