BRADFORD v CREWE – Pick: 1 – 04 October 2014

Bantams to get back on track against Railwaymen

League One/Two Tips

Football – England – League One

Saturday 4th October 2014 – Kickoff: 1500hrs

After some recent wobbles at Valley Parade, Bradford City have a great chance of kick-starting their season again when they host bottom club Crewe Alexandra on Saturday afternoon who are suffering a terrible run of form.

Bradford have recently suffered back-to-back home defeats to Yeovil Town 1-3 and Swindon Town 1-2 which was followed with a point against Port Vale in a 1-1 draw last weekend, but recent results have been more encouraging with a 2-1 win away at fourth placed MK Dons and a point away at Colchester United.

The Bantams opened their account on home soil this season with a win over Coventry City, so they have proved they can get results, and with forwards Billy Clarke and Aaron McLean up front, they should have enough to grab the points today.

Visitors Crewe Alexandra slumped to their third League One defeat on Tuesday night when they lost 0-3 at home to Notts County who had gone five matches without a win, and The Railwaymen remain rooted to the bottom of the division with a tough trip to Bradford ahead.

Along with three defeats on the trot, Crewe have also been leaking goals left, right and centre with 12 goals conceded and scoring just one in reply with defeats to MK Dons 1-6, Colchester United 0-3 and Notts County 0-3.

To put the last two results into perspective, these heavy 0-3 defeats were inflicted by teams also situated in the bottom quarter of the division, while their overall away form reads a sorry  0-1-4  3/13.

My pick today then is for the hosts to return to winning ways against a side who are spiralling downwards and losing confidence fast. Bradford to win this 2-1.
