BRADFORD v OLDHAM – Pick: 1 AH-0.25 – 28 March 2015

Bradford to press on with home advantage

League One/Two Tips

Football – England – League One

Saturday 28th March 2015 – Kickoff: 1500hrs

Bradford City will be looking to put behind the disappointment of missing out on all three points last Saturday when they once again have home advantage with the visit of Oldham Athletic this Saturday.

Bradford were seemingly in control against Fleetwood Town last weekend as they held a 2-0 lead with just four minutes remaining. But Fleetwood Town scored two goals in the last few minutes to grab an unlikely point, and The Bantams will no doubt be seething that they let a vital two points escape as they continue their bid of a play-off place.

But The Bantams can redeem themselves today if they beat Oldham and another three points could lift them up as high as 8th place depending on other results, while their home record stands at  6-6-6  23/23 on the back of a five-match unbeaten run at Valley Parade.

Visitors Oldham Athletic registered a comfortable 3-0 home win over Rochdale on Tuesday night to hand The Latics back-to-back wins in League One following last Saturday’s 1-0 win away at Crewe Alexandra.

Three points for Oldham today could see them also jump into 8th place on goal difference, but their away performances have been pretty inconsistent with five wins and five defeats from their last ten away matches overall. Oldham’s overall away record stands at  6-6-7  21/26 and recent wins at Scunthorpe United, Port Vale and Crewe Alexandra, have been offset by losses at Barnsley, Leyton Orient and Yeovil Town.

It’s difficult to know exactly what you’re going to get from Oldham, particularly on the road, but with Bradford’s solid home form in the last few weeks, I’m leaning towards the hosts for the points here but I recommend giving the quarter ball on Bradford who might sneak a 1-0 win today.
