Football – England – Championship Betting Tips

Brentford will be looking to bounce back from their unexpected 2-1 defeat to Sheffield Wednesday on the weekend tonight when they host Birmingham City at Griffin Park, and there could be further goals at hand in this encounter.

Despite losing 2-1 on Saturday, Brentford have now been involved in 6 out of 8 matches in the Championship that have gone over 2.5 goals, and with both teams coming off defeats at the weekend, we could be in store for an attacking match tonight.

Brentford have actually won just once in their last six matches in the Championship while their home record stands at  1-1-2  6/8 with all four home matches exceeding the 2.5 goals total.

Visitors Birmingham City were handed a second home defeat on the trot on Saturday when they went down 2-0 to unfancied Rotherham United at St Andrews and The Blues have now gone four matches without a win in all competitions with defeats to Nottingham Forest and Rotherham in the Championship along with the Capital One Cup loss to rivals Aston Villa. They did however earn a point away at Ipswich Town recently in a 1-1 draw.

Birmingham still remain unbeaten on their travels though having secured a win at lowly MK Dons 2-0 along with draws at Burnley 2-2 and the aforementioned Ipswich Town 1-1 amidst an overall away record of  1-2-0  5/3.

Birmingham striker Clayton Donaldson is expected to line up against his former club tonight where he spent three seasons and banged in a total of 48 goals during his tenure at Griffin Park.

I’ll therefore back the overs again where Brentford are concerned (particularly at home) until they let me down! This could be an entertaining 2-2 draw maybe.
