Next up is a bottom half clash in the Championship between hosts Brentford and visiting Burton Albion with both teams no doubt keen to pull way from the bottom end of the league table here.
Brentford come into this clash on the back of four straight league defeats to Fulham, Blackburn Rovers, Birmingham City and last weekend’s heavy 5-0 defeat away at Norwich City, but brentford still hold a reasonable looking record at Griffin Park.
The Bees’ overall record reads 4-2-3 14/8 and although they’ve now gone four matches without a win on home turf, they have a great opportunity to turn things around on Saturday afternoon against a Burton Albion outfit who have yet to record an away win this term.
Onto Burton then, and they sit just one league place below but level on points with Brentford as they make their way down to the London area for this bottom half clash. The Brewers ended a run of four league matches without a win last weekend when they registered a much-needed three points against poor Rotherham United in a 2-1 home win.
However, Burton are still without an away win so far this season as they hold a record of 0-5-5 9/19 which includes failing to score in four of their last five on their travels which has contributed to defeats at Ipswich Town, Leeds United and Reading.
An away record of 0-2-3 6/11 away from home against bottom half teams also fails to inspire me when weighing up Burton’s chances in this one, so I’ll give the quarter ball on the hosts Brentford who should get something from this game.
