Brentford entertain mid-table Wolves at Griffin Park on Saturday as they go in search of a fifth consecutive Championship win.

Brentford have been in red-hot form in recent weeks as they’ve registered wins against Championship league leaders Derby County at home along with wins over Nottingham Forest, Millwall and last Friday night’s win over London rivals Fulham.

These string of results have pushed Brentford up into the play-off places and they currently sit in 5th place just one point behind second placed Bournemouth. The Bees’ home record stands at  5-3-1  14/10 and they’ve won four of their last five at Griffin Park.

Former Luton Town striker Andre Gray looks a likely anytime goalscorer for the hosts.

Visitors Wolves have dropped out of the play-off reckoning in the last few matches as they’ve suffered three straight defeats on the trot with losses against Ipswich Town and Derby County away from home and Saturday’s home defeat to Nottingham Forest.

Prior to this bad run of results, Wolves had lost just twice in thirteen Championship matches which had seemingly set Kenny Jackett’s boys in a strong position for a play-off place, but they now need to re-group for the trip to London again this afternoon.

Wolves’ away record stands at  2-4-3  11/16 which isn’t great but they have recorded wins at Fulham and Leeds United as well as four draws overall from their nine matches, so a point at Brentford this afternoon would be considered a good result for the midlanders.

Whilst Brentford’s recent run has been impressive, their results against top half opposition at home has been indifferent and Wolves may set themselves up to not be beaten for a fourth time today. I’ll therefore back a draw here, perhaps 1-1.
