Brighton return to their AMEX Stadium for Saturday’s Championship clash with lowly Burton Albion having returned a defeat and a draw in their recent away matches.
The Seagulls lost 3-1 at Huddersfield Town and drew 3-3 away at Brentford so they’ll be keen to return to winning ways on home turf where they hold an impressive home record of 11-2-1 28/7 which has been built upon a solid defensive unit.
Along with Derby County, Brighton have conceded just 7 goals at home all season and their 9 clean sheets to date have helped them up into one of the spots for automatic promotion up to the Premier League. Brighton have won their last five home matches on the trot.
Visitors Burton Albion are currently perched just above the relegation zone in the Championship three points above Blackburn Rovers ahead of this weekend’s action in the English second tier. Recent wins over QPR and last weekend’s win over Wolves has prevented The Brewers from slipping down into the bottom three – for the time being.
A difficult trip down to the south coast awaits them this Saturday though and they possess a pretty average away record of 2-5-8 15/26 under their belts ahead of this clash. Burton have posted recent wins at QPR and Rotherham United, but both opposition currently sit in the bottom half of the Championship.
With just one clean sheet away from home all season (gained at second from bottom Wigan Athletic in a 0-0 draw), I’m tipping that Burton will be outclassed by the more experienced and quality outfit of Brighton here.
