Football – England – Championship Betting Tips

Having made a promising start to the new Championship campaign, Bristol City have since slumped to three straight defeats in the Championship recently following losses to Brighton, Birmingham City and Reading but they will remain hopeful of bouncing back against Ipswich Town on Saturday afternoon.

Bristol City have in fact lost five of their last seven league matches overall, but with a reasonably promising home record of  5-1-2  10/7 at Ashton Gate under their belts so far this season, The Robins will be fairly confident o getting something out of this mid-table clash.

Defeat to Brighton last time out on home turf actually ended a run of five matches without defeat for the hosts as they’d previously collected wins over Aston Villa, Leeds United, Nottingham Forest and Blackburn Rovers along with a point earned against Derby County.

Visitors Ipswich Town have continued their usual inconsistent form in the Championship as each season brings new optimism around Portman Road that The Tractor Boys could actually make a play-off spot, but continual disappointment surrounds Mick McCarthy’s boys.

Ipswich’s last five league results in the Championship provide a perfect snapshot of how their seasons usually shape up as they’ve recorded recent wins over Sheffield Wednesday and QPR (pretty solid results), but have then shot themselves in the foot with defeats against Newcastle United and Nottingham Forest.

Ipswich possess a fairly disappointing away record so far of  2-2-4  4/9 and they possess the worst attacking stats away from home in the Championship having drawn a blank on five occasions from their eight away matches to date.
