BRISTOL CITY v FLEETWOOD – Pick: 1 – 01 February 2015

Robins to cast aside Cod Army at The Gate

League One/Two Tips

Football – England – League One

Sunday 1st February 2015 – Kickoff: 1500hrs

Second placed Bristol City have been in sublime form in recent weeks as they’ve registered four League One wins on the trot which has maintained their position at the top of the division albeit shared with west country rivals Swindon Town.

With wins over Yeovil Town, Gillingham, Notts County and Scunthorpe United, Bristol City will be looking to make it five on the trot with the visit of Fleetwood Town this afternoon at Ashton Gate. The Robins’ overall home record is a good one which stands at  9-2-1  23/9 with their one blemish being a defeat to fourth placed Preston North End.

However, Bristol City have racked up six clean sheets at home so far, and with the likes of Freeman, Smith and Emmanuel-Thomas in attacking areas, I fancy the hosts here.

Onto Fleetwood Town then, and they kept their hopes of a play-off place alive last Saturday when they beat struggling Crawley Town 1-0 at Highbury Stadium which handed them a third win in their last five matches.

Previous wins at Rochdale and Leyton Orient have been good wins for The Cod Army on the road but it should be remembered that neither of these sides possess particularly good home records this season.

Fleetwood’s overall away record stands at an inconsistent  5-1-7  12/12, and whilst they’ve registered some useful away wins this term, they’ve managed just two wins at top half opposition from six matches overall.

Bristol City are on a roll and I expect them to continue here this afternoon with perhaps a 2-1 win to bring home the bacon.
