It’s a quick return back to English domestic football for my next two picks starting with the only fixture in League One on Tuesday night between Bristol Rovers and Walsall with both teams situated down near the bottom of the division.
19th placed Bristol Rovers recently beat Oxford United 2-1 at their Memorial Stadium, but then suffered a 2-1 defeat straight away to Bolton Wanderers on the same ground but since then, they’ve steadied the ship somewhat with back-to-back draws against Southend United (away) and Saturday’s 2-2 draw at home with Rochdale.
Tonight they take on Walsall who have managed just one point from their first three away matches, and with forwards Taylor (who grabbed a brace against Rochdale) and Easter up front, Rovers will be confident of getting something out of this encounter.
Visitors Walsall sit in 20th spot but level on points with Bristol Rovers but they come into this clash on the back of five League One matches without a win following defeats to Chesterfield, Charlton Athletic and Northampton Town.
The Saddlers have also drawn with Oldham Athletic and Bury 0-0 and 3-3 respectively, but it looks as though a point is all they could expect with this tricky fixture in the west country on Tuesday night, particularly when you look at their away form.
As mentioned earlier, Walsall have taken just one point from the last possible nine on offer which was the point at Oldham, but they have lost three of their last four away trips in this division and have failed to score in each of these last four matches too.
