BURNLEY v BRIGHTON

Football – England – Championship Betting Tips

Sunday lunchtime features a mouth-watering clash between Burnley and Brighton who currently sit third and second place respectively in the Championship when the two teams meet at Turf Moor today with a valuable three points up for grabs.

Burnley sit just two points adrift of joint league leaders Hull City and today’s opponents Brighton, but all three points for The Clarets could see them move top of the Championship if Hull City slip up away at Bristol City in Saturday’s early kick-off.

Back to Burnley though, and they’ve put together a seven-match unbeaten run of late which includes wins over Rotherham United, Bolton Wanderers, Blackburn Rovers, Huddersfield Town and Fulham while their overall record at Turf Moor stands a strong  6-1-1  16/8 having won their last three on the trot. Forwards Gray and Vokes along with midfielder Matty Taylor should be considered for possible anytime goalscorer options.

Visitors Brighton have also enjoyed an impressive start to their Championship campaign as they still remain unbeaten both home and away which is a great achievement for manager Chris Hughton and his squad.

However, The Seagulls will face perhaps their biggest test yet this lunchtime when they make the long trip up north to face an in-form Burnley outfit who will be wanting to bounce straight back up to the Premier League.

Brighton would perhaps be clear leaders of the Championship had it not been for four draws from their last five away from home, but Hughton will no doubt be pleased with their current away record which remains unbreached at  3-5-0  11/8.

This will be a close one, but I’ll give the edge to the hosts here taking the round ball (draw no bet) option at pretty good odds.
