BURNLEY v EVERTON – Pick: 2 – 26 October 2014

Toffees to edge goal-shy Clarets at Turf Moor

Premier League Tips

Football – England – Premier League

Sunday 26th October 2014 – Kickoff: 1330hrs

Burnley head into today’s clash with Everton having still not registered a Premier League win with just four points to their name thanks to four draws so far.

Recent defeats to West Brom and West Ham haven’t helped their cause any, and while they’ve picked up points against Manchester United, Crystal Palace, Sunderland and Leicester City, these have predominantly been against teams around them in the bottom half of the division.

Another factor to consider here is Burnley’s lack of goals on home soil so far as they’ve managed just 2 goals at Turf Moor in their first four matches while The Clarets’ overall home record stands at   0-2-2  2/6.

Visitors Everton secured an important point during the week away at French side Lille in a 0-0 draw  in their Europa League campaign and will take this good performance into this afternoon’s encounter away at Burnley with results slowly turning in The Toffees’ favour.

Everton have lost just once in their last five in all competitions which was a narrow 1-2 defeat at Old Trafford, and if it hadn’t been for Manchester United’s goalkeeper De Gea making some superb top-drawer saves, Everton would certainly have walked away with a point there.

Last time out in the Premier League, Everton ran out comfortable 3-0 winners over Aston Villa at Goodison Park, while their overall away record stands at  1-2-1  6/5, they have a great chance of converting all three points at Turf Moor today against goal-shy Burnley.

To wrap up, I believe Everton possess the necessary personnel to take the points here with the likes of Eto’o, Naismith, Lukaku and Mirallas going forward, so I’ll back the visitors to nick a 1-0 win  to move Everton up the table.
