BURNLEY v HULL – Pick: X – 08 November 2014

Clarets and Tigers in dour duel

Premier League Tips

Football – England – Premier League

Saturday 8th November 2014 – Kickoff: 1500hrs

Burnley have three very important matches ahead of them in the next couple of weeks as they meet fellow bottom half opponents Hull City, Stoke City and Aston Villa in the Premier League with a minimum target I daresay of achieving three further points in this sequence of fixtures.

Burnley go into this afternoon’s clash against Hull City sitting bottom of the Premiership with just a total of four points to their name thanks to draws with Manchester United and Sunderland at Turf Moor, along with holding Crystal Palace and Leicester City to points on the road.

That’s a total of three draws in the four matches overall that they’ve played against bottom half opposition (home and away), and they won’t find the going any easier this afternoon despite holding home advantage.

Burnley’s home record currently stands at  0-2-3  3/9.

Visitors Hull City so far have managed to keep their heads above water (or above the bottom three in other words) as they sit in 14th place with a quarter of the season gone already, but just two points above Leicester City who occupy the last remaining relegation spot.

Along with Arsenal and Sunderland, Hull City have drawn a total of 5 matches so far this season in their first ten league matches while recent results have been a bit of a mixed bag; a win over Crystal Palace at home was added to by draws against Arsenal and Liverpool (both away from home and great results for Steve Bruce’s side).

However, defeats at home to Manchester City and last Saturday’s loss on home turf to Southampton have prevented The Tigers from putting some real daylight between themselves and the bottom three.

Hull’s away record currently stands at  1-3-1  6/6.

This one looks like it could well be a low-scoring affair and I reckon there’s some value to be had by backing the draw here as neither Burnley nor Hull have been very dominant in recent weeks. Could be either 0-0 or 1-1.
