BURTON v STEVENAGE – Pick: 1 – 30 March 2015

Brewers look to regain lead at top of League Two

League One/Two Tips

Football – England – League Two

Monday 30th March 2015 – Kickoff: 1945hrs

With both Shrewsbury Town and Wycombe Wanderers winning away from home on Saturday, Burton Albion will be keen to reclaim the five-point margin at the top of League Two when they play host to Stevenage at the Pirelli Stadium on Monday night.

Burton have been in dominant form in recent weeks having strung together four straight wins on the trot with victories over Hartlepool United, Accrington Stanley, Southend United and a 4-1 thrashing away at Tranmere Rovers.

The Brewers will therefore no doubt go into tonight’s encounter in confident mood as they’ve lost just once in their last twelve on home turf, while their overall home record has again been solid at  14-2-3  28/10 and are undoubtedly one of the most consistent teams at home in this division spanning over three or four seasons now.

Stevenage have dropped down into 9th place as a result of their 1-0 home defeat to Dagenham & Redbridge, and they face a tough trip to Burton tonight on the back of three matches without a win with previous draws against Cambridge United and Exeter City (1-1 and 0-0 respectively).

Away from home though is where Stevenage have struggled to make an impact despite being unbeaten in their last four on the road; a win at Hartlepool United was followed with a draw against Wycombe Wanderers as well as the aforementioned results against Cambridge United and Exeter City.

Stevenage’s away record stands at  4-7-8  21/26 and on the flip-side, they’ve registered just one away win from their last six on their travels.

Burton’s attacking depth that includes the likes of Akins, McCrory and Beavon should be too much for Stevenage tonight, and The Brewers could win this one perhaps 2-1.
