Cagliari host AC Milan on home turf on Wednesday night as they look to do the ‘double’ over the Milan teams following their recent amazing 4-1 away win at Inter Milan just a few matches ago.
But I daresay they’d rather be playing on the road as their overall away record stands at a more favourable 2-1-2 9/5 than their rather ordinary home record of 0-1-2 4/6 where they’ve taken just one point from their first three home matches which was a 2-2 draw with Sampdoria.
Defeats to bottom half clubs Atalanta and Torino suggest that they could face another tough night this evening when they come up against 6th placed AC Milan.
Onto the visitors AC Milan then, and they’ve lost just once in their last nine matches which was a 0-1 home loss to current Serie A league leaders Juventus. Aside from that defeat though, AC Milan have registered recent wins over Chievo and Hellas Verona as well as draws against Empoli, Cesena and Fiorentina.
AC Milan’s overall away record stands at 2-2-0 11/8 with wins at Parma and Hellas Verona, and they’re also very capable of scoring goals as well as they’ve failed to score just once in their last nine away matches.
Interestingly, it’s AC Milan’s free-scoring midfield unit consisting of Honda, Muntari and Menez that look the most likely anytime goalscorer’s here tonight.
Cagliari have now gone four home matches without a win which includes three straight defeats, and I reckon the visitors are in much better shape to take the points tonight. However, i do recommend backing AC Milan and give the quarter ball as they’ve also been involved in two draws on the road as well. AC Milan could win this 1-0.
