CAMBRIDGE v DAGENHAM – Pick: 1 & both teams to score – 27 January 2015

U's and Daggers both to score in home win

League One/Two Tips

Football – England – League Two

Tuesday 27th January 2015 – Kickoff: 1945hrs

Mid-table Cambridge United head into tonights clash with Dagenham & Redbridge looking for a third league win on the trot following recent back-to-back wins.

A 1-0 win away at Carlisle United was followed up with a resounding 4-0 home win over high-flying Newport County last time out, while in the fourth round of the FA Cup, they held the mighty Manchester united to a goal-less draw at the Abbey Stadium last Friday night which will have boosted their confidence no end.

Cambridge’s overall home record stands at an inconsistent  6-1-5  22/11 but they’ve lost just once i their last five on home turf with wins over Hartlepool United, Northampton and Newport County, while their defeat was to fifth placed Southend United.

Visitors Dagenham & Redbridge currently sit second from bottom in League Two and they’ll be pushing for all their worth to climb out of the relegation places tonight. The Daggers weren’t in action on the weekend, but last time out they went down to Northampton Town 1-0 at Sixfields Stadium which handed them a fourth away defeat in their last seven trips.

Dagenham’s away record stands at  3-4-6  13/19 which doesn’t appear that good admittedly, but their record away at bottom half teams actually stands at a more stable  2-2-2  8/9. Journeyman striker Jamie Cureton (7 goals) continues to score goals wherever he goes, and he’s supported by the likes of Yussuf and Labadie.

Cambridge have improved at home and will have been boosted by their shut-out against Manchester United, so they look likely to win here, but I’ll also back The Daggers to notch one here also – perhaps a 2-1 home win for The U’s.
