Carlisle have the edge over poor-travelling Wycombe

League One/Two Tips

CARLISLE UNITED v WYCOMBE WANDERERS

Saturday 24th September 2016 – Kickoff: 1500hrs

Football – England – League Two Betting Tips

Carlisle United extended their unbeaten start to their new League Two campaign last weekend when they earned a solid point in a 2-2 draw away at Blackpool and they now hold home advantage in their upcoming clash with Wycombe Wanderers at Brunton Park on Saturday afternoon.

Keith Curle’s boys have made a solid start to the season as they remain unbeaten in the English fourth tier and currently sit in 8th place, and although their results so far have been littered with draws, a win today could see them jump into the top four of the division.

Carlisle are unbeaten in their last four matches at home with the highlight being an opening day 1-0 win over current League Two league leaders Plymouth Argyle, and with the visit of Wycombe here this afternoon, I think The Cumbrians will fancy their chances of adding to their points tally.

Onto Wycombe Wanderers then, and despite a 1-0 home win over Stevenage last weekend, The Chairboys’ season hasn’t gone exactly to plan as they sit in a lowly 19th place in League Two and just two points ahead of relegation-threatened Exeter City.

Previous defeats to Colchester United, Luton Town and Portsmouth (the latter two being heavy 4-1 and 4-2 defeats respectively away from home), have held them back on their travels, and indeed, Wycombe have failed to win in each of their last 13 away matches on the trot.

Wycombe’s early away record this term has continued in a similar vein too as their record currently stands at a poor  0-1-3  3/9 with their one point being gained at fellow strugglers Blackpool in a dour 0-0 stalemate.
