Cheltenham to blast away Braintree

National League Tips

CHELTENHAM TOWN v BRAINTREE TOWN

Football – England – National League Betting Tips

Cheltenham Town registered a massive 7-1 win on Saturday away at Halifax Town which maintained the west country club’s push for automatic promotion back to the football league following a disappointing season last term.

Gary Johnson’s Cheltenham outfit are currently sitting second in the National League and they return to their Whaddon Road ground tonight where they will encounter surprise-package Braintree Town in a top half clash.

Cheltenham have won four of their last six matches with wins over Dover Athletic, Macclesfield Town, Woking and Halifax along with a 2-2 draw away at league leaders Forest Green Rovers. The Robins’ overall home record stands at an impressive  5-1-1  12/5 despite losing last time out on home turf to Tranmere Rovers.

Visitors Braintree Town also recorded an away win on Saturday as they beat south coast side Eastleigh 2-0 which lifted them up into 6th place in the National League. There have been changes in the management of the club recently with former boss Alan Devonshire moving on and ex-Concord Rangers manager Danny Cowley has since replaced him.

This has brought about changes in The Iron’s fortunes as they’ve won four of their last seven matches, a run of form which has lifted them up into 6th place. Braintree have also improved on the road too where they’ve registered five wins already amidst an overall away record of  5-1-1  11/3.

However, Braintree have played top half opposition away from home twice so far this season and they’ll face perhaps their toughest test yet on their travels tonight.

I’ll therefore give the quarter-ball on the hosts Cheltenham Town with a view to The Robins winning this perhaps 2-1.
