CORDOBA v RAYO VALLECANO – Pick: 2 – 17 May 2015

Vallecano to seal Cordoba's misery

International Football Tips

Football – Spain – La Liga

Sunday 17th May 2015 – Kickoff: 1900hrs

Relegated Cordoba will play their last home match of their disastrous La Liga campaign this Sunday evening when they entertain Rayo Vallecano at their Estadio Nuevo Arcángel ground. The hosts have failed to win in their last 18 matches overall in the Spanish top flight, which includes no fewer than 15 defeats.

In addition, Cordoba have failed to score in each of their last six matches, and they’ve also suffered an 8-0 humliation at home to Barcelona recently which was the icing on a very disappointing cake.

Cordoba’s overall home record reads a miserable  1-6-11 11/31 and as well as losing their last nine home matches on the trot, they’ve also failed to hit the back of the net in their last four too.

Visitors Rayo Vallecano haven’t exactly been prolific either in recent weeks as they’ve chalked up just three wins from their last eight matches overall with victories over Eibar, Almeria and Getafe, although defeats against Real Madrid, Celta Vigo and Sevilla have prevented them from making an impression upon the top half of the division.

They currently sit in 11th place and they hold a  6-2-10  18/41 record on their travels but just one win from their last eight on the road would appear to be against them here this evening. But Vallecano have been in deadly form away at the bottom teams in La Liga this season having won six of their seven outings at such opposition.

To wrap up then, I fancy Rayo Vallecano to grab the points here with perhaps a 2-1 win.
