Football – Europe – Euro 2016 Betting Tips
The bottom two teams of Group D, Czech Republic and Turkey face each other in tonight’s potential wooden-spoon showdown at the Stade Bollaert-Delelis in Lens with qualification into the last 16 looking very distant.
Czech Republic lost 1-0 to Group D favourites Spain in their opening game of the tournament, which was then followed by a 2-2 draw with Croatia, and they’ll have to go for it tonight against bottom club Turkey who have been disappointing so far in the Euro 2016 finals.
Incidentally, the previous seven meetings between these two nations have been evens-stevens as both teams have registered three wins apiece along with a draw, with both teams scoring in four of these seven encounters.
As mentioned, Turkey have been largely disappointing so far in these Euro 2016 finals, and you’ve got to wonder if their best chance of progressing into the next stage was when they narrowly lost 1-0 to Croatia in their opening group match.
The Turks went close to securing a point in that match, but having then also lost to group favourites Spain in a convincing 3-0 defeat, Turkey’s chances of emerging from this group looks extremely unlikely.
That said, prior to the start of this tournament, Turkey had put together a promising run of results as they’d lost just once in their previous 16 matches overall, and given their current plight, I’m expecting them to come out all guns blazing this evening to try and salvage some pride.
With this in mind, I’ll back both teams to score this evening.
