Rovers look to blunt Daggers in relegation clash

League One/Two Tips

Football – England – League Two

Saturday 13th December 2014 – Kickoff: 1500hrs

Next up is a relegation clash between hosts Dagenham & Redbridge and visitors Tranmere Rovers with a vital three points at stake as both teams look to pull away from the bottom reaches of League Two.

Dagenham sit three places and six points ahead of Tranmere going into today’s clash and have recently registered back-to-back league wins with victories over Carlisle United and Bury which has just about kept The Daggers’ heads above water so far. It’ll be interesting to see if Dagenham can keep this renewed momentum going though as they possess a fairly ordinary home record of  3-0-6  12/15 overall.

Evergreen Dagenham striker Jamie Cureton (7 goals) looks the most likely to net for The Daggers this afternoon, along with perhaps new signing and ex-QPR forward Patrick Agyemang.

Tranmere Rovers currently sit second from bottom in League Two despite recording their first league win in fourteen attempts at the weekend when they beat mid-table Portsmouth 3-1 at Prenton Park.

However, the merseysiders experienced a wretched run of form prior to that rare three points and with an overall away record of  1-2-6  7/13 it appears that their best hope is a draw this afternoon at Dagenham.

In addition, Tranmere have failed to score in five of their last six away from home which doesn’t auger well for Rovers as they attempt to climb out of the bottom two of the division, but with forward Stockton along with midfielders Rowe and Power, they might have enough to claim a point here today.

I’m not sure we can totally trust Dagenham on home turf as yet, and with Tranmere looking to get something from a match against similar opponents to them, I fancy taking the draw here in what could end up being 1-1.
