DONCASTER v MK DONS – Pick: X – 25 October 2014

Donny and Dons to cancel each other out

League One/Two Tips

Football – England – League One

Saturday 25th October 2014 – Kickoff: 1500hrs

Doncaster Rovers will be hoping to avoid a third successive League One defeat this Saturday when they entertain MK Dons at the Keepmoat Stadium following back-to-back defeats.

Doncaster have recently suffered defeats away at Fleetwood Town 1-3 and the Tuesday night home defeat to Leyton Orient 0-2 which has kept them firmly in the bottom half of the division with just one home win to their name so far in this campaign.

Donny’s overall home record stands at  1-2-3  5/10 and their one home win to date was a 3-2 win over Chesterfield back in September, but goals on home soil have been hard to come by and they’ve failed to score on three occasions so far this season (against Oldham, Crawley and Leyton Orient).

Visitors MK Dons registered an important three points over Fleetwood Town at their stadium:mk on Tuesday night in a 2-1 win which has lifted The Dons into 4th place and one of the play-off positions, and they’re just three points adrift now of second placed Peterborough United.

The Dons have lost just twice in their last ten League One matches which were defeats to Bradford City and Bristol City, but aside from that, MK Dons have been in pretty steady form of late with recent wins over Crewe Alexandra 6-1, Yeovil Town and of course Fleetwood Town.

Their overall away record stands at  3-1-2  12/9 and they’ve lost just once in their last five on the road, with their last result being a 0-0 draw at Leyton Orient.

Doncaster Rovers manager Paul Dickov will be keen for his side not to lose a third game on the trot, and I fancy they’ll gear themselves up to soak up MK Dons’ attacks and perhaps hit on the counter-attack. Both sides haven’t really been prolific either at home or away so I reckon the draw represents good value here. Could end up perhaps 1-1.
