Dover Athletic will be looking to revive their challenge for a play-off place in the National league following three defeats on the trot overall, but a win today could lift them up into as high as third place depending on other results.

Dover suffered a shock 2-1 defeat at home at the hands of Stourbridge in the FA Cup and this has been made worse by back-to-back National League defeats to Eastleigh and Forest Green Rovers, although both of these sides are currently sitting third and second in the division respectively, so Dover shouldn’t be too downhearted.

On home turf, Dover hold a solid record of  6-3-1  14/8  at the Perrys Crabble Stadium with the one defeat being their last match against high-flying Eastleigh, but Dover’s record at home against bottom half opposition stands at an impressive  4-2-0  9/4 so far this season.

Visitors Barrow bounced back from three defeats on the trot in the non-league top flight last Saturday when they thumped struggling Torquay United 4-0 at their Holker Street ground which lifted them away from the relegation pack for the time being.

Prior losses to Wrexham, Guiseley and Grimsby Town had threatened the Cumbrian outfit to drop down near the bottom four, but a welcome three points was earned last weekend. However, that was on home turf, and today they face a tough trip down to Kent to try and topple a determined Dover outfit.

Barrow’s away form has been poor overall as they’ve lost four of their last five on their travels with only a win at mid-table Tranmere Rovers to show for their recent troubles, while their record away at top half teams stands at a disappointing  1-1-4  4/16.

In short, Dover should bounce back with a win here to kick-start their season again.
