Although they’ve recently been dealt two away defeats on the trot, today’s hosts Dover Athletic will be grateful to return to their Perrys Crabble Stadium with a fair amount of confidence ahead of their encounter with Braintree Town on Saturday afternoon.
Heavy defeats at Chester 5-0 and Gateshead 4-2 have slowed Dover’s progress up the National League table but if they take all three points here today, they stand a good chance of closing the gap on the play-off pack.

Visitors Braintree Town look to have a long, hard relegation fight on their hands for this season unless they can improve their overall form following a run of five league matches without a win in the non-league top flight.
The Iron have lost four of these last five with defeats suffered against Chester, Forest Green, Lincoln City and Boreham Wood while their away record stands at a poor 1-2-4 4/9 with just the one win under their belts so far on their travels, which was a 2-1 win at Sutton United.
In this fixture last season, Braintree earned a point away at Dover in a 0-0 draw but that was earlier in last term than this time around, and this season the visitors have really struggled away from home.
Dover at home and in good form should be too strong here.
