Dover Athletic have moved up into fifth place in the National League following a recent string of solid results which has seen them record four league wins on the trot with victories gained over Solihull Moors, Guiseley, Woking and a 6-0 trashing of Sutton United last week.
They now return to their beloved Perrys Crabble Stadium where they’ve won 8 of their 11 league matches so far amidst an overall record of 8-0-3 28/17, and there have been plenty of goals for the home faithful to cheer about as their side have scored the most goals at home in the division to date this season.
Dover have been involved in high-scoring games throughout this season at home where there has been an average of 4.09 goals to date on home turf with 73% of their games resulting in over 2.5 goals. This is no surprise if you look at their prolific striker Miller who has netted a staggering 21 goals to date along with fellow forwards Emmanuel (8 goals) and Lafayette (9 goals).
Visitors Dagenham & Redbridge were handed back-to-back defeats during the week when they lost 1-0 at home to lowly Torquay United which followed last weekend’s 4-1 drubbing at the hands of Barrow at home, so they’ll perhaps be looking forward to a change of scenery here.
The Daggers are actually unbeaten in their last four away from home as they’ve collected 10 points from these four matches with wins at Eastleigh, York City and Maidstone United along with a point at second placed Forest Green Rovers.
However, Dagenham’s recent defeats have set them back in their quest for at least a play-off place and they currently occupy sixth place but will be keen to jump back into a play-off spot here I daresay.
