Dover and Macclesfield to score on nervous night for the hosts

National League Tips

DOVER ATHLETIC v MACCLESFIELD TOWN

Tuesday 25th April 2017 – Kickoff: 1945hrs

Football – England – National League Betting Tips

It’s a case of now or never for hosts Dover Athletic this evening when they entertain Macclesfield Town at their Perrys Crabble Stadium if they’re to stand any chance of claiming the last remaining play-off spot in the National League.

Dover’s play-off ambitions have taken serious dents in recent matches as they’ve suffered back-to-back defeats at the hands of Aldershot Town and Saturday’s home defeat to relegation threatened Torquay United, and they now find themselves four points adrift of fifth placed Aldershot Town who currently occupy the last play-off berth.

But hope springs eternal, and with a good home record of  13-4-5  46/26 along with the second highest number of goals at home in the division, Dover will feel they still have a chance of pushing Aldershot all the way until the last day of the season. Striker Miller (36 goals) leads the goalscoring charts for the National League by a country mile!

Visitors Macclesfield Town sit in a disappointing 9th place in the non-league top flight as another season of non-league football has passed The Silkmen by as they’re 13 points out of reach of the play-off zone.

Strangely enough, it’s been Macclesfield’s away form that has helped them to a top half position this season with a record of  11-4-7  32/26  away from their Moss Rose ground, although three losses on the trot coming into this fixture includes two away defeats at Woking and Lincoln City.

But The Silkmen have failed to score on just five occasions throughout their 22 away matches to date this season, and with forward Holroyd (13 goals) supported by midfielders James (5 goals) and Whitaker (8 goals), Macclesfield could score here this evening against a nervy Dover outfit.
