DOVER v NUNEATON – Pick: 1 – 25 November 2014

Dover to extend Nuneaton's away-day misery

National League Tips

Football – England – Conference Premier

Tuesday 25th November 2014 – Kickoff: 1945hrs

Dover Athletic head into tonight’s encounter with second from bottom club Nuneaton Town in good shape as they’ve put together a four match unbeaten run which has kept them from slipping into the bottom four.

Recent wins over Braintree Town and Alfreton Town have maintained their five point cushion above the relegation pack along with useful points away at Southport and at home to Forest Green Rovers in a 0-0 draw on Saturday.

Despite their current league position of 17th in the Conference Premier, Dover have actually been pretty consistent in the last couple of months as they’ve lost just twice in their last ten league matches with both defeats coming away from home. Incidentally, one of those losses was a 2-3 loss away at tonight;’s opponents Nuneaton Town, while their home record this season stands at  5-1-4  9/7 having been unbeaten in their last five including five clean sheets on the trot.

Visitors Nuneaton Town are on a poor run of form as they’ve now gone five matches without a win which was further exacerbated by a 2-3 home loss to Southport at the weekend. Liam Daish’s side have now won just twice in their last twelve league matches (which incidentally were both at home), and it’s hard to see how they’re going to get out of the current mess they find themselves in.

And if that wasn’t bad enough, Nuneaton’s away record stands at a woeful  0-1-9  3/19 which is the worst away record in the division. Their away record has quite simply been absolutely dire as they’ve gone without an away win from their last sixteen matches on the road.

Given Nuneaton’s miserable away form along with Dover’s improvement in form over the last couple of months, I’ll back the hosts to register perhaps a narrow 1-0 win here tonight.

Pick: Dover Athletic straight win @ 1.67 Coral
