DOVER v WELLING – Pick: Both teams to score – 26 December 2014

Both teams score in Kent derby

National League Tips

Football – England – Conference Premier

Friday 26th December 2014 – Kickoff: 1500hrs

Two of the top four form teams at the moment in the Conference Premier clash in a local derby on Boxing Day when hosts Dover Athletic take on Welling United at the Perrys Crabble Stadium.

Dover will be keen to keep their unbeaten run going which stands at eight matches going into today’s fixture on the back of wins against Braintree Town, Alfreton Town Nuneaton Town and Gateshead. Another win today could see them move into a mid-table position.

However, Dover have also been involved in a number of draws of late as well and their last two matches in the Conference Premier have ended in 2-2 results against Torquay United at home and Altrincham away.

Dover forward Payne (9 goals) and midfielder Deverdics (4 goals) are the most likely to score here today I fancy.

Visitors Welling United also head into today’s match in pretty good form having won four of their last six matches overall with wins over Halifax 2-1, Braintree Town 1-0, AFC Telford 2-1 and Saturday’s win at home against Aldershot Town 3-1.

Welling have also picked up their away results lately too with the wins at Braintree and Telford in their last three matches on the road while their overall away record stands at  3-1-9  12/22. Forward Marsh (8 goals) is their leading goalscorer and he bagged a brace against Aldershot on Saturday along with a goal from Kieron St. Aimie who has scored in his last two matches.

Dover might just edge this one but as it’s a local derby between two sides in Kent, I do fancy Welling to hit the back of the net at least once this afternoon. This could perhaps be a 2-1 win for Dover, but back both teams to score here at good odds.
