Football – Europe – Euro 2016 Betting Tips

England secured their spot in the last 16 of the Euro 2016 finals by avoiding defeat to Slovakia as they shared the points with the minnows in a dour 0-0 stalemate.

England are now unbeaten in their last six matches overall in all competitions, but they finished runners-up to Wales who deservedly topped their Group B by way of a more attacking brand of football.

England have done just enough so far in this Euro 2016 but would probably only earn a ‘pass mark’ at this stage as they’ve failed to really exert their dominance over the weaker sides, including struggling against Wales despite a 2-1 victory. The Three Lions had previously drawn with Russia 1-1 and Slovakia 0-0.

Iceland finished runners-up to Hungary in Group F as they both ousted group favourites Portugal in their four-team group on the back of an impressive 1-1 draw with Portugal which was then followed by a 1-1 draw with Hungary and a 2-1 win over Austria.

Iceland have lost just once in their last six matches overall which was a 3-2 loss away to Norway in a friendly, and they are a well organised outfit under the joint managership of Lagerback and Hallgrimsson who have lifted Iceland as a more serious player in international football.

The last encounter between England and Iceland was 12 years ago when England hammered Iceland in a 6-1 rout, but England are expected to face a tougher challenge this time around, but should ultimately come out on top.
