Everton head into this Monday afternoon clash with Southampton having recorded a 2-0 win away at Leicester City on Boxing Day and a point in a 2-2 draw at Hull City, and they’ll be looking forward to returning to Goodison Park for this encounter.

Visitors Southampton make the long trip up to Merseyside on the back of two defeats on the trot in the Premier League as they’ve been dealt back-to-back losses at St Marys Stadium to Tottenham 4-1 and West Brom 2-1 in recent matches.
The Saints now face difficult away matches at Everton today and also Burnley at Turf Moor following on from this afternoon’s clash at Goodison Park, and with a below par away record of 2-3-4 9/11 to their name, the south coast side could struggle again today.
Whilst Southampton have enough in their locker to usually see off the teams below them in the division, they’ve struggled against the better teams away from home which is evident in their defeats at Manchester United and Arsenal, but also in worrying defeats at Hull City and Crystal Palace.
