Football – England – Premier League Betting Tips

Last season’s fifth place finishers, Everton, take on this season’s Europa League contenders Tottenham in the last match of the Premier League season at Goodison Park this Sunday afternoon.

Whilst Everton’s season has been disappointing compared to last term’s campaign, it appears as though Roberto Martinez’s men are on track for another top half finish, particularly given the fact that they’ve lost just twice now in their last nine matches as they look to finish this season on a high note.

The Toffee’s overall home record stands at  7-7-4  27/20 and last time out’s defeat to Sunderland was their first defeat on home turf since Boxing Day, but they look likely to get something from this match as they welcome a Tottenham outfit who have been inconsistent at best on the road this season.

Onto Tottenham then, and last week’s 2-0 home win over Hull City ended a run of four matches without a win and as a result, Spurs are playing catch-up to fifth placed Liverpool who are one league position and one point above them going into the final weekend.

But despite last Saturday’s win, Tottenham appear to be failing at the last hurdle as they’ve registered just three Premier League wins from their last nine matches overall which incidentally, were recorded against Leicester City, Newcastle United and Hull City who are all situated in the bottom half of the division.

Tottenham’s away record stands at  8-4-6  26/29 which isn’t too bad at first glance, but drill down a bit deeper and you’ll find that they’ve registered just one win on their travels away at top half opposition this season, which is not the sort of form you’d expect from a side chasing European football next season.

With this in mind, I reckon Everton have enough about them to at least avoid defeat here, but they could nick this perhaps 1-0.
