Dallas recorded a third straight win in the MLS last weekend when they won 2-0 away at Orlando City which extended their unbeaten run to four matches.
Previous wins over Houston Dynamo and New England Revolution along with a draw against Colorado Rapids away from home has resulted in Dallas moving up into third spot in the Western Conference level on points with Seattle Sounders and Vancouver Whitecaps.
They now take on Eastern Conference leaders DC United but they’ll still be confident of getting something from tonights encounter as they possess a solid home record which currently stands at 6-2-1 14/8 having put together a five-match unbeaten run on home soil with four wins from these five.
Visitors DC United sit top of the Eastern Conference with a nine-point buffer over second placed New York Red Bulls although recent form for the visitors has been a bit up and down of late. Mixed results include wins over New England (at home) and an away win at Chicago Fire but they’ve also suffered defeats to Orlando City (away) and Seattle Sounders (away).
DC United’s overall away record reads a slightly disappointing 3-2-5 5/8 and they’ve racked up just one win on their travels from the past seven matches on the road which was at bottom of the Eastern Conference outfit Chicago Fire.
In addition, DC United have struggled to find the net in their away matches so far and they are the lowest goalscorers away from home in both Conferences.
With this last statistic in mind, I’ll back the hosts FC Dallas to take the points here to extend their impressive home form with perhaps a 1-0 win.
