FC Dallas continued their solid home form recently with a 2-0 win over Houston Dynamo last weekend which maintains their bid for a play-off place later in the season.
Dallas have managed to hold onto their current 6th place in the Western Conference thanks to that much-needed win, and they’ll now look to push on and take advantage of their good form on home turf here tonight when they entertain New England at their Toyota Stadium.
FC Dallas’ overall home record stands at an impressive 5-2-1 11/8 and they’re unbeaten in their last four on home soil following wins over Toronto, LA Galaxy and Houston Dynamo along with a 0-0 draw with New York Red Bulls.
Strikers Perez and Akindele are expected to lead the line while leading goalscorer and midfielder Castillo (6 goals) looks a good bet for anytime goalscorer for the hosts.
Visitors New England Revolution have seen their chances of claiming the Eastern Conference title totally evaporate in the last few weeks as they’ve lost four of their last five matches despite still holding onto second place (just).
Defeats to Portland Timbers, DC United, Columbus Crew and Vancouver Whitecaps (the latter being at home) have cost New England dear, and they face another tough trip this weekend with a trip to Dallas who are in good form on home turf.
New England’s overall away record stands at 2-1-6 10/18 and this hasn’t been helped by four straight defeats on their travels with only Philadelphia Union (18 goals) conceding more than them away from home in the Conference.
Given the visitors’ poor record on the road recently, I’ll back the hosts FC Dallas to get over the line here but I recommend giving the quarter ball in case it ends a draw (you lose only half your stake if this happens), but Dallas might just edge this perhaps 1-0.
