FLEETWOOD v BRISTOL C – Pick: 2 AH0 – 20 September 2014

Rampant Robins could nick the points off Cod Army

League One/Two Tips

Football – England – League One

Saturday 20th September 2014 – Kickoff: 1500hrs

Fleetwood Town’s run of matches without a league win was extended to five matches on Wednesday night when they were held to a 0-0 stalemate by visitors Barnsley at their Highbury Stadium.

Gary Alexander’s boys have now drawn three of their last five along with defeats against Oldham Athletic and Crawley Town (both away from home), and these recent results have tainted their excellent start to their new season in League One.

Whilst this division is unchartered territory for the Cod Army, nevertheless, they started with a bang winning their first three League One matches on the trot with wins over Crewe Alexandra 2-1 and back-to-back away wins at Notts County and Scunthorpe United respectively.

However, their progress seems to have hit a bit of a road block recently and they now face a rampant Bristol City outfit who seem intent on securing automatic promotion back up to the Championship before Christmas!

Onto the visitors then, and Bristol City are perched nicely on top of League One with a four point buffer over second placed Peterborough United who face another tricky away trip to Yeovil Town on Saturday, and as we saw against Gillingham, The Posh are by no means guaranteed all three points!

Bristol City have started their League One campaign in strong fashion as they still remain unbeaten after their first eight matches, winning six of these eight with three wins at home and away. The Robins head into today’s encounter on the back of four successive league wins over Notts County and Port Vale away from home along with wins at Ashton Gate over Scunthorpe United and Doncaster Rovers.

City’s away record stands at  3-1-0  8/3 and they’ve also secured maximum points at Sheffield United in the season-opener at Bramall Lane along with a point at Rochdale in a 1-1 draw.

While Fleetwood Town are still stumbling about right now, I’ll take advantage of the bookies’ generous draw no bet option on the visitors as they may well win this match anyway, perhaps 1-0.
