Fleetwood Town have recently registered some encouraging results but the problem has been that they’ve been book-ended by defeats.
Wins over Rochdale 2-0 away and a 1-0 win at Leyton Orient was sandwiched by a very creditable point against League One leaders Swindon Town with a 2-2 draw, but defeats against Bradford City and Oldham Athletic at either end have resulted in the Cod Army remaining in a mid-table position.
However, they do have a great chance of returning to winning ways, particularly where home is concerned, against today’s visitors Crawley Town who have won just once on their travels all season.
Fleetwood’s home record stands at 4-6-3 14/14 but they’re without a win from their last five at Highbury Stadium.
Crawley Town make the long trip up north this Saturday on the back of no wins from their last eleven matches overall, and they’ve lost four of their last six with defeats to Bristol City, Port Vale, Leyton Orient and Rochdale. The Red Devils did manage to hold Colchester United and MK Dons to 0-0 and 2-2 draws recently, but bear in mind that both of these matches were at their checkatrade.com Stadium.
Meanwhile, away from home, the Sussex outfit have lost their last three on the bounce with defeats at the aforementioned Bristol City, Leyton Orient and Rochdale, conceding 9 goals and scoring just 2 in reply.
Their away record stands at a poor 1-4-7 10/23 and only Crewe Alexandra (25 goals) have conceded more goals than them away from home in League One. In addition, Crawley have kept just two clean sheets and have failed to score on five occasions on their away days.
Fleetwood have been disappointing on home turf in the past few matches so it’s time for them to turn things around and I believe they can win this one perhaps 2-1 to reverse their recent home trend.
