Fluminense have returned some ordinary results in their past few matches in the Brazilian top flight, but they have a great chance to redeem themselves on Saturday afternoon when they take on struggling Coritiba at the Maracana.
Fluminense have lost three of their last four matches in Serie A with defeats to Sport Recife, Santos and Sao Paulo although two of these three losses were on their travels, while their form on home turf has been more solid having lost just once so far this season.

Onto Coritiba, and they currently sit just one league position and one point above the bottom four in Serie A and they’ve escaped being sucked down into the relegation places thanks to a 1-0 home win over Atletico PR last time out.
However, Coritiba have really struggled away from home so far this season as they’ve failed to register a win on the road to date amongst an overall poor away record of 0-1-4 3/8 with goals coming at a premium for tonight’s visitors.
In fact, Coritiba have managed just two away wins from their last 11 trips in the Brazilian top flight, so history is not on their side this afternoon as they look to get something from this match against Fluminense.
Although Fluminense should win here, I’ll give the quarter ball just in case this ends up a draw, thus limiting our losses.
