Friday night brings us a London clash between hosts Fulham and visitors Charlton Athletic at Craven Cottage and an important three points up for grabs for both teams.

Let’s take a look at Fulham first; The Cottagers earned a vital point away at Rotherham United on Tuesday night in a topsy-turvy 3-3 draw with defender Dan Burn rescuing a point for Fulham on the stroke of full-time, and they’ll now look to continue their improving form on home turf when Charlton visit on Friday night.

Manager Kit Symons has stopped the flow of defeats as he looks to restore belief and confidence in the squad he inherited off former boss Felix Magath. Fulham have lost just twice in the six games since he took over the reigns at Craven Cottage, and they’ve won back-to-back matches at home with wins over Bolton Wanderers and Norwich City.

Meanwhile, visitors Charlton Athletic continued their solid run of form on Tuesday night when they beat Bolton Wanderers 2-1 at The Valley and they’ve lost just once in their last fifteen Championship matches (a 0-1 loss at Bournemouth recently).

The Addicks have drawn four of their six away matches to date with stalemates at Brentford, Huddersfield Town, Brighton and Rotherham United along with beating Norwich City at Carrow Road which was a great result.

Charlton’s overall away record therefore reads  1-4-1  6/6 and have lost just once in their last eight on the road. Manager Bob Peeters has moulded together a team that are hard to beat both home and away and I reckon they stand a good chance of walking away with a point here tonight.

I can’t separate these two teams heading into tonight’s clash, and I feel that both sides would be reasonably happy with a point so I’ll back the draw here in what could perhaps be a 1-1 scoreline.
