FULHAM v NOTTM FOREST – Pick: 1 AH0 – 21 January 2015

Cottagers good for at least a point against Forest

Championship Tips

Football – England – Championship

Wednesday 21st January 2015 – Kickoff: 1945hrs

Following a run of four matches without a win, Kit Symons’ Fulham side have recovered to register back-to-back wins with a FA Cup win away at Wolves and Saturday’s 2-1 home win over Reading.

Fulham had also suffered three straight defeats in the Championship prior to the visit of Reading with defeats to Bournemouth, Brighton and Cardiff City although two of these defeats were on their travels. At Craven Cottage though, Fulham have been a lot more solid having lost just twice in their last nine on home turf with an overall record of  6-2-5  20/15.

Fulham also possess some very dangerous attacking personnel in the shape of McCormack, Ruiz and Rodallega along with Fofana who has extended his loan with The Cottagers from Manchester City.

Nottingham Forest ended their abject run of eight matches without a win on Saturday when they secured a vital win in the east midlands derby over Derby County in an unlikely 2-1 victory at the iPro Stadium.

Manager Stuart Pearce had been coming under increased pressure to get results following a good start to the season, and perhaps his legendary status at the City Ground has spared him the axe where other managers may well have been shown the door by now.

His players would have been up for the derby match but can they back up that result with a win at Fulham tonight? Forest’s away record stands at  4-5-4  14/16 and their performances on the road have been very hit-or-miss so far.

I’ll back Fulham to avoid defeat here tonight as one win from nine matches doesn’t fill me with confidence in the travelling Forest side. Fulham could edge this perhaps 2-1 but take the round ball here on the hosts.
