Football – England – Conference North
Tuesday 9th September 2014 – Kickoff: 1945hrs
High-scoring Fylde will be looking to record a fourth successive win in the Conference North as they take on mid-table Bradford PA at their Kellamergh Park ground on the back of dishing out a few recent heavy defeats.
Fylde are currently flying high in fourth place and this has been due to recent impressive wins over Colwyn Bay 5-0 away, Hednesford Town 3-1 at home and Saturday’s demolition of Oxford City 8-1 on the road with forwards Allen, Rowe and Barnes each scoring a brace.
Fylde’s early home record stands at 2-1-0 7/1 with wins over Brackley Town 4-0 and the aforementioned Hednesford win along with a point against fifth placed Guiseley who are expected to once again challenge for promotion this season.
Visitors Bradford Park Avenue have made a more modest start to their new Conference North campaign with a string of three home wins on the trot with victories over Harrogate Town 2-1, Leamington 2-1 and hapless Hyde United 3-2 but they suffered a home loss to Boston United 1-3 on Saturday.
That’s now three defeats from their last four matches as they’ve also recently lost to Stockport County 1-3 and Gainsborough Trinity 0-1, and interestingly, two of those three defeats came on their travels.
Bradford PA now make the trip to Fylde looking to avoid a third successive defeat and will have their work cut out against a free-scoring Fylde unit tonight.
Fylde have shown their attacking intent in impressive fashion of late and with numerous attacking outlets such as Potts, Barnes, Allen and Rowe going forward, I reckon they’ll have too much firepower for their visitors tonight. I’m confident the hosts will also cover the -1 handicap too – a 3-1 home win tonight perhaps.
