GAINSBOROUGH v TAMWORTH – Pick: 1 AH0 – 09 September 2014

Trinity to take care of hesitant Lambs

National League Tips

Football – England – Conference North

Tuesday 9th September 2014 – Kickoff: 1945hrs

Eighth placed Gainsborough Trinity will be wanting to bounce back tonight following their heavy 1-4 loss away at Colwyn Bay on Saturday, and with a strong home record behind them they have every chance of walking away with at least a point against Tamworth.

Whilst Gainsborough’s away form has been questionable in recent weeks with defeats at Barrow, Brackley Town and Colwyn Bay, Trinity have been in solid form at The Northolme with an early home record of  2-1-0  2/0 with wins registered over Hednesford Town 1-0 and Bradford Park Avenue 1-0 along with a 0-0 draw against Lowestoft Town.

Gainsborough are now unbeaten in their last five on home turf and indeed, have won four of their last five, keeping four clean sheets in the process.

Following their relegation from the Conference Premier at the end of last season, Tamworth have struggled to find their feet in the North division as they’ve managed just one league win so far in this new campaign.

That win came at home against Gloucester City 2-1 but away from home, they’ve failed to make any significant impact so far with draws at Harrogate Town, Worcester City and Hyde United – all of whom currently occupy the bottom five of the Conference North.

A trip away at Gainsborough will be their first big test then tonight you feel and they’ll do well to grab a point here against a side that have been hard to beat on home turf in recent times.

This could be a 1-0 win for the hosts, but I recommend backing Gainsborough with the round ball in this one which is still offered at a good price.
